A Job to Do

Before you get all mad because you're in a hurry and we're in your way, stop to think of the people we're out there saving everyday...
Think of someones grandfather who can't hold them 'cause he's dying, or the child who's parents were in a wreck, leaving him crying...
Think about yourself, family and loved one's that are fine, but there's the reality, you may also need us sometime...
We don't ask for much, just a little respect, so we may get to those who are sick or in a wreck...
The lights are not to scare you, the sirens aren't to push you, they're just to let you know, someone needs us and we've got a job to do...
When you don't take time to stop, at least think of what you've done, we may be going to your wife, your daughter, or your son...
We're not the law, we're not God, we're a lot like you, except that we are here to help and we've got a job to do...
That job is not for money, it's for people in need, we are not here for honor, class or greed...
We're here for those in need, maybe even you, so be kind and let us through, because we have a job to do.
